EMI All-English Course – Student Learning and Teacher Teaching Experience Sharing(1) 2023-11-22
Professor Kuan-Hung Lu is the invited speaker for this session and has experience teaching in English. During the lecture, Professor Lu mentioned that when teaching this type of course, it is beneficial to view it from the students’ perspective, helping them understand why they need to learn the course in English.
In terms of EMI, English is merely a tool for communication, not a test to assess English proficiency. Therefore, it is advisable to provide students with relevant English terms and vocabulary before the lecture, so they can understand the technical terms and integrate into the course more quickly. From a professional perspective, it is more encouraging for students to take formal courses. Although these courses are primarily conducted in English, the depth and accuracy of the content should be higher.

EMIAll-English Course – Student Learning and Teacher Teaching Experience Sharing(2) 2024-05-01
During the seminar, the teacher shared American-style food with the students. In addition to enthusiastically sharing teaching experiences, the teacher also encouraged students to share their thoughts on participating in the course and engage in discussions. Everyone unanimously agreed on the importance of speaking English and acknowledged the need to overcome any feelings of embarrassment to speak English. Participating in an all-English course provides an opportunity for students to communicate and collaborate with classmates from other countries, broadening their horizons and understanding different cultural differences.
