Introduction

The Teacher Professional Development Section was officially established in August 2006 to help teachers strengthen their teaching capacity and improve teaching quality, and was transferred to the Office of Academic Affairs in August 2019 and renamed the Center for Teacher Professional Development in August 2020. Its primary tasks include organizing teaching workshops for newly recruited teachers and implementing the mentor & mentee program, so as to shorten the adjustment period for the new teachers. In addition, a wide variety of teaching seminars are in place to facilitate and promote class observation and Professional Learning Community This catalyzes the realization of the concept of flipped learning and teaching Mutual communication among teachers is also encouraged, to establish learner-centered teaching perspectives and guiding students towards taking the initiative in learning. Our Section also provides teachers with teaching resources and counseling to help them conduct research into practical teaching research, flipping the classroom from traditional lecture to active learning, and further stimulate the teachers’ potential in teaching. It is hoped that through the implementing of these tasks, teachers will improve in their teaching capacity and students will learn more efficiently and effectively.
