Moe Teaching Practice Research Program

MOE “Teaching Practice Research” Subsidies Program 

The Program aims to improve the teaching quality for teachers and realize the school management mission for schools; with supplementing effects, it combines with the Higher Education Sprout Project, prompting schools to focus on the development of school affairs and invest resources in the teaching scene; therefore, to efficiently connect teachers’ individual research and students’ learning cultivation, schools shall review the program proposed by teachers in the schools regarding the research program and course planning, and whether the direction for student cultivation is in line with the direction of the development of school affairs. Where necessary, the schools shall provide comprehensive teaching resources to support teachers’ research, and in turn realize the transformation of teaching scene.

MOE Teaching Practice Research Program: An Overview and Application Tips video 

Q1. Common Omissions in the Project Proposal

  1. Missing cover page.
  2. Principal investigator’s section exceeds 5 pages.
  3. The proposal format (content items) differs from the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) official call-for-proposals format for the current year.
  4. The proposal (including references and appendices) exceeds 25 pages.
  5. Inconsistent course titles: the course title in the system, in the teaching plan, and in the university’s course registration system must be identical (no extra or missing characters).
 

Q2. Format Review and Rejection Criteria

  1. According to the university’s resolution in the 2025 (Academic Year 114) internal review meeting for MOE Teaching Practice Research Projects, the format review and rejection criteria are as follows:

    (1) The proposal format must comply with the MOE’s official Teaching Practice Research Project format for the current year, with a minimum of 15 pages (excluding the cover page).
    (2) Proposals that are resubmitted without substantial revision after previously being rejected will not be accepted. If such a case is verified, the faculty member will be ineligible to apply in the following year.

  2. The following rules are based on the “MOE Guidelines for Subsidizing Teaching Practice Research Projects in Colleges and Universities.” Proposals that do not comply will be rejected. (Course information will be verified by the department or program.)

    (1) The principal investigator must be the main instructor of the course(s) for which the project is proposed (at least one course).
    (2) The course participants must be students enrolled in: the Overseas Preparatory Program, junior college, undergraduate, master’s (including in-service master’s), or doctoral programs.
    (3) The course must be one approved by the university and counted toward graduation credits.

 
Q3. Common Omissions in Budget Allocation
 
  1. Principal fees do not include supplementary health insurance fees (*).
  2. Part-time assistants do not include supplementary health insurance fees (*), labor insurance fees (**), and retirement fees (**).
  3. Part-time student worker wages (starting from the year 115, with a minimum hourly wage of NTD 196) do not include supplementary health insurance fees, labor insurance fees, and retirement fees.

*: The supplementary health insurance fee rate for the year 115 is 2.11%. All expenses included in the income must allocate the National Health Insurance supplementary insurance fee.
