Services

I. Increase teaching knowledge and capabilities

  1. Lectures/Experience Sharing/Studies/Workshops:

To meet the different needs of teachers, various teaching activities are organized. The activities are categorized into “enhancement”, “proficiency” and “innovation”.

  1. Class observation:

Encourage teachers to open up their classrooms to facilitate mutual observation, feedbacks and opportunities for exchanges in order to build a mutual-learning and discussion atmosphere.

  1. Professional learning communities:

Establish professional learning communities with different specialties including flipped classroom, subject teaching, and other subjects to help teachers build partnerships for the enhancement of their teaching efficacy and professional growth as well as to strengthen the quality of teaching for the subjects and increase students’ learning outcomes.

II. Promote teaching research

  1. Serial activities on teaching research:

To assist teachers of the University in their research on teaching in the place of education, the Section plans a series of study programs each school year. The main focus of the studies is academic research related to education and teachers from disciplines related to education are invited to open various study courses.

  1. Teaching Award / Teaching Aid Production Subsidy:

Provide the Instructional Innovative Outcomes category in the “TKU Regulations on Rewards for Outstanding Teachers” to encourage teachers to innovate their teaching methods or strategies, improve the assessment, and develop new teaching materials or instruments. The award is to be given to teachers who execute their plans in two semesters on the subject they teach and who have demonstrated actual results with students in their learning.

  1. Present results of teaching research:

Invite teachers to share the results of their teaching research to provide opportunities for peer exchanges, invigorate teaching efficacy, and increase teaching enthusiasm The sharing of the results of teaching research will be organized each school year in accordance with the number of grants.

III. Applied teaching resources

  1. Videos:

Provide course videos of lectures on dedicated topics, teaching workshops, and teaching demonstration for teachers to go online and receive new knowledge on teaching and class observations in order to advance their knowledge and skills in teaching.

  1. Teaching resources handbook:

Collect experience-sharing articles from exceptional teachers and interview articles with excellent teachers and compile them into a handbook for full-time teachers of the University.

IV. Provide teachers with consulting services

  1. Mentor & Mentee program:

To help newly-hired full-time teachers of the University in their teaching, research, assistance, and services as well as to encourage the full-time teachers of the University to advance their teaching, the senior teachers of the University establish a one-on-one guidance system to guide the newly-hired full-time professors, instructors or full-time teachers who wish to advance their teaching to advance together.

  1. Improvement for the teachers’ teaching assessment:

Invite heads of related departments, Exceptional Teachers for Teaching, Excellent Teachers and consulting experts to collectively formulate customized teaching improvement plans for colleges, departments and teachers’ reference and assist teachers in improving their teaching.
