1.It must comply with the relevant regulations in “Tamkang University’s Regulations for the Professional Development of Teaching.”
2.When teachers register for activities in the university’s registration system, if they are labeled as “Teaching Workshops,” they will be imported into the teacher development system and included in the statistics of teachers’ participation in on-campus teaching and training activities.
3.In addition, the number of teaching workshop activities is included as a teaching item in teacher evaluations. The calculation of the number of workshop activities for teachers who were evaluated in the second semester of the 105th academic year is counted until the first semester of the 105th academic year.
4.Calculation method for workshop activities:
(1)Newly hired lecturers and assistant professors within two years of joining the university are required to participate in at least four workshops.
(2)Lecturers and assistant professors who have been at the university for over two years are required to participate in at least two workshops.
(3)Associate professors are required to participate in at least two workshops.
(4)Professors are required to participate in at least one workshop.
Q: Are teacher professional growth community activities considered teaching workshop activities?
A: According to Article 6 of “Tamkang University’s Regulations for the Professional Development of Teaching,” teacher professional growth communities with themes unrelated to subject teaching are not counted as part of the required workshop attendance for teachers.
